FAT Karting League is a dynamic and innovative motorsport organization dedicated to creating an accessible and engaging pathway for young racing enthusiasts throughout California. Our mission is to revolutionize the motorsport industry by lowering the barriers to entry and encouraging mass participation from drivers as young as six years old, continuing all the way through the formative teenage years up to age seventeen. Job Requirements
- willingness to work Friday to Sunday and travel to various karting circuits across California
- passion for motorsport and enthusiasm for working in a team environment
- physical ability to handle mechanical tasks and long hours on-site
- strong organizational and multitasking skills
- effective communication skills
- prior experience preferred but not essential
- willingness to learn and develop skills in a motorsport context
Job Qualifications
- experience in motorsport event management or related field
- strong customer service and communication skills
- mechanical skills or technical knowledge of karts, motorbikes, or racing vehicles
- familiarity with motorsport rules and regulations
- ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
- experience in coaching or working with children desirable
- leadership skills and team management experience
Job Duties
- organize and manage karting events across various venues in California
- provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive experience for all participants and spectators
- maintain and prepare karts for races, including both mechanical and software diagnostics
- oversee the judicial processing and implementation of motorsport regulations during events
- assist with on-track incidents, recover karts, and communicate with drivers using flags or marshal lights
- coordinate pit lane activities to ensure smooth transitions between sessions
- record and manage race timing data accurately
- teach and coach young drivers, focusing on skill development and safety
- lead teams under pressure, ensuring effective communication and organization during events
