Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous housekeeping experience preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents
  • ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • interest in working with a senior population
  • courteous and friendly interaction with guests, residents, and staff
  • physical ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • ability to frequently climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • capability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • specific vision abilities including close vision and color vision

Job Duties

  • Performs cleaning duties according to schedule in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges and offices
  • sweeps, dusts, dust mops, and wet mops all floors and stairways
  • spot cleans and vacuums floors, rugs, carpets and runners
  • rotates runners in hallways and entryways
  • cleans, sanitizes, and polishes lavatory, shower and sink fixtures and facilities
  • stocks dispensers as necessary
  • scrubs bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills
  • maintains equipment and materials in a clean and orderly condition
  • collects trash and refuse from work areas and places them in designated pickup areas
  • collects, cleans, and redistributes community laundry
  • maintains commercial laundry in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition
  • ensures cleaning chemicals are stored and locked when not in use
  • keeps cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards out of the way and in compliance with fire codes
  • reports needed repairs and supply and equipment needs to Lead Housekeeper
  • performs other duties as assigned
