Job Requirements
- Support the lead teacher in weekly curriculum and lesson plan implementation
- Participate in professional development and training
- Engage with parents and maintain safety and cooperation in the classroom
- Assist children in cooperative learning and conflict resolution
- Help prepare and clean up after meals
- Administer developmental screeners and track child progress
- Conduct daily safety checks indoors and outdoors
- Ensure a healthy and engaging classroom environment
- Complete daily logs and communicate with families
- Track attendance and CACFP food records
- Report incidents and collect data for funding requirements
- Comply with childcare laws and licensing requirements
- Maintain CPR, First Aid, and Food Handlers certifications
- Pass background check
Job Qualifications
- Early childhood care and education experience with children ages birth to twelve
- Comply with local, state, and federal laws governing childcare
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Friendly and approachable demeanor
- Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic
- Ability to work as a team member with other staff and families
- An associate degree, CDA or ability to obtain a CDA within one year, or higher education degree in related field
- 1+ years experience in early childhood care and education as a lead teacher or assistant director
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Pass Utah Child Care Licensing Background Check
- Obtain required preservice and annual training per Utah Child Care Licensing
- Complete and maintain CPR, First Aid, and Food Handlers Permit certifications
Job Duties
- Support the lead teacher in leading children in weekly curriculum and lesson plan implementation and all daily activities including indoor/outdoor play time, large and small group activities, and snack and mealtimes
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training on all Utah Child Care Licensing regulations and internal policies
- Engage with parents and children while enforcing safety rules to foster a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment
- Assist children in learning cooperation through interactive games and positive guidance techniques
- Help prepare children for lunch and snack times and lead cleanup after meals
- Administer Ages and Stages Screeners to track individual child growth and share information with families
- Conduct daily safety checklists indoors and outdoors to ensure child safety and report necessary repairs
- Ensure classroom environment is healthy, safe, clean, and engaging
- Complete daily logs and communicate with families through the family engagement app
- Track attendance and meals for documentation and CACFP food program compliance
- Attend required annual training and professional development
- Report critical incidents immediately to the Regional Director
- Collect data for funding and statistical reports
