Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to work 5 to 10 hours weekly depending on event schedules
  • Temporary non-benefit eligible position
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems efficiently
  • Willingness to work flexible hours based on event timing

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience as an events planner or organizer preferred
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Reliable with a positive attitude
  • Proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations
  • Portfolio of previously managed events such as weddings, meetings, parties, or corporate events
  • Willingness to submit references from previous clients
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge

Job Duties

  • Manage day-of events for weddings and other occasions at Morris Chapel within set time limits
  • Liaise with clients to identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Provide feedback and periodic reports to the Morris Chapel Coordinator
  • Organize facilities and manage all event details as outlined by the Morris Chapel Coordinator and event planning sheets
  • Proactively handle arising issues and troubleshoot problems on event days
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
