Job Requirements

  • must be 18 years or older upon employment
  • high school diploma or equivalent required, associates or bachelor's degree preferred
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively
  • ability to deal effectively with customers and employees
  • ability to resolve problems and conflicts diplomatically
  • physical ability to stand, walk, and move through casino and hotel areas
  • maintain physical stamina and mental attitude for fast-paced environment
  • able to work in environment where smoking is permitted
  • capable of handling noise levels from moderate to loud
  • complete required seneca gaming corporation training programs within nine months

Job Qualifications

  • must demonstrate leadership, fairness, and sensibility to customers and employees
  • ability to instill pride and personal responsibility in subordinates
  • minimum six years in food and beverage field with three years in supervision at high-volume restaurants
  • minimum one year as a general manager of a dining restaurant
  • excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, coaching, team building, and problem-solving skills
  • general knowledge of full service dining and food and beverage procedures
  • ability to understand and manage budgets
  • understanding of labor and productivity standards
  • able to evaluate statistical and business reports
  • computer literate including Microsoft office and restaurant systems
  • ability to make decisions, interact pleasantly with customers, and resolve guest recovery situations
  • public speaking and communication effective

Job Duties

  • implement and maintain upscale standards
  • train all restaurant staff to perform their job duties in accordance with departmental and company standards
  • evaluate, provide feedback and direct shift managers and all restaurant staff
  • ensure that all products served meet established specifications and standards
  • manage a budget to ensure the department runs efficiently to achieve fiscal and performance goals
  • maintain a rotation of weekly and seasonal special offerings
  • keep informed of new or revised restaurant and dining concepts
  • provide disciplinary action when needed
  • facilitate weekly management meetings
  • attend property management meetings
  • maintain constant control of the restaurant including greeting and seating guests and resolving service failures
  • report incidents to appropriate management
  • assure prompt and professional service to all guests
  • approach tables to obtain feedback about dining experience
  • handle administrative duties such as scheduling and payroll
  • advise director of food and beverage of daily concerns and needs
  • complete daily and incident reports
  • prepare necessary paperwork, ordering supplies and equipment
  • communicate regularly with associates about casino activities and events
  • ensure staff behavior and appearance comply with established standards
  • share accountability for achieving cost goals, labor and expenses
  • evaluate staff performance on a 90-day and annual basis
  • maintain current understanding of policy and information security
  • provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional work environment
  • meet attendance guidelines
  • complete required training programs
  • attend all necessary meetings
  • adapt duties and responsibilities as needed
