Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- 2 years previous food & beverage and supervisory experience
- Ability to work entire shift standing and moving about in restaurants and kitchen areas
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, employing patience, tact and diplomacy
- Position requires 2 years food service supervisory experience
- Ability to commute to Coralville, IA 52241
- Ability to relocate to Coralville, IA 52241
- Knowledge of beverage operations and wine varieties preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and POS systems preferred
- Additional language ability preferred
Job Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of food & beverage operations and preparation techniques
- Knowledge of beverage operations and understanding wine varieties, labels and vintages
- Mathematical abilities to determine and track inventory, controls, revenue production, and other financial statements
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Experience with POS systems and Microsoft Office suite preferred
Job Duties
- Perform all dining room positions including server, server assistant, host and bartender
- Open and close restaurant and bar
- Supervise staff in absence of Restaurant / Outlets Manager
- Assist with on-going training to ensure standards are being met
- Oversee operation of Room Service and assist other Food and Beverage areas as needed
- Interact positively with customers promoting hotel facilities and services
- Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties
- Move throughout facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met
- Verify temperature, judge appearance and taste of products and check preparation methods to determine quality
- Give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency
- Maintain profitability of outlet to support hotel operations
- Control payroll and equipment costs
- Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering, and retrieving supplies
- Utilize POS system to accurately charge customers, and ensure timeliness of food and beverage
- Implement and maintain housekeeping, sanitation and cleanliness standards in all areas of the hotel
- Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics and self-image with yourself as well as subordinates
- Administer sales promotion programs and employee sales incentive programs
- Know the competition and keep current with industry trends
- Direct and coordinate the activities of all assigned associates and departmental responsibilities in the restaurant
- Support hotel policies and procedures
- Maintain house bank
- Ensure appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, and appearance are maintained
- Be knowledgeable and participate in the hotel's Fire, Safety, Security, and Environmental plan and/or committees
- Attend all required F&B Department and other meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
