Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • two years previous food and beverage and supervisory experience in a hospitality atmosphere
  • ability to stand and move entire shift in restaurants and kitchen areas
  • ability to read, write, and communicate in English effectively
  • strong interpersonal skills with patience, tact and diplomacy
  • ability to relocate to Coralville, IA 52241 before starting work
  • ability to commute to Coralville, IA 52241
  • available to work day and night shifts
  • previous food service supervisory experience
  • previous restaurant customer service experience

Job Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations and preparation techniques
  • knowledge of beverage operations and understanding wine varieties, labels and vintages
  • mathematical abilities to determine and track inventory, controls, revenue productions, and other hotel financial statements
  • ability to work entire shift standing and moving about in restaurants and kitchen areas
  • ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • ability to deal effectively with internal and external customers requiring tact and diplomacy to resolve issues
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • two years previous food and beverage and supervisory experience in a hospitality atmosphere
  • additional language ability preferred
  • knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and POS systems preferred

Job Duties

  • Perform all dining room positions including server, server assistant, host and bartender
  • open and close restaurant and bar
  • supervise staff in absence of Restaurant / Outlets Manager
  • assist with on-going training to ensure standards are being met
  • oversee operation of Room Service and assist other Food and Beverage areas as needed
  • interact positively with customers promoting hotel facilities and services and resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties
  • move throughout facility and kitchen areas to monitor and ensure food quality and service standards are met, verify temperature, judge appearance and taste of products and check preparation methods to determine quality
  • maintain profitability of outlet to support hotel operations, control payroll and equipment costs, ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering, and retrieving supplies
  • utilize POS system to accurately charge customers, and ensure timeliness of food and beverage
  • implement and maintain housekeeping, sanitation and cleanliness standards in all areas of the hotel
  • maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, ethics and self-image
  • administer sales promotion programs and employee sales incentive programs
  • stay informed on the competition and industry trends
  • direct and coordinate activities of all assigned associates and departmental responsibilities in the restaurant
  • support hotel policies and procedures
  • maintain house bank
  • ensure appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, and appearance
  • participate in hotel’s Fire, Safety, Security, and Environmental plans and committees
  • attend all required F&B Department and other meetings
  • perform other duties as assigned
