Job Description
The Waterfront Division under the City of Burlington is dedicated to managing and maintaining vibrant waterfront facilities and event spaces that contribute to the community's cultural and recreational life. As a part of the Burlington Parks, Recreation and Waterfront (BPRW) Department, the division oversees a broad range of responsibilities from general waterfront upkeep to the coordination and support of diverse events including large-scale concerts and festivals. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in maintenance or event operations preferred
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- capability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions
- valid driver’s license
- strong communication skills
- ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member

- knowledge of safe operation of various tools and equipment

Job Duties
- Assist in event set-up and break down including snow fence installation and removal
- mark water lines and transport event supplies
- install and remove temporary signage
- support all aspects of event operations including taking sound readings and responding to public inquiries
- implement day-of event checklists and communicate with onsite event producers
- work nights, weekends, City holidays and flexible schedules
- maintain turf through mowing, weed whacking, brush cutting, seeding and mulching
- clean restrooms including sweeping, mopping, restocking supplies and wiping down surfaces
- collect refuse in park system and remove graffiti
- assist with painting and special projects
- perform safe work practices using vehicles and power equipment
- assist in setup and operations of BPRW produced community events
- provide excellent customer feedback and notify supervisors of undesirable activity
- support marina projects and general marina operations as necessary
