Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to paint and/or draw realistically
- willingness to teach and communicate art techniques
- marketing skills to build student attendance
- certification through Grumbacher required
- availability for part-time scheduled classes
- basic computer skills for application and communication
Job Qualifications
- experience in realistic painting and/or drawing
- ability to teach art techniques clearly
- effective communication skills
- willingness to promote classes and grow student enrollment
- certification through Grumbacher (or willingness to obtain)
- familiarity with acrylics, watercolors, and drawing media
- previous teaching experience preferred
Job Duties
- teach watercolor, acrylic painting, and/or drawing classes
- prepare lesson plans that enable students to complete a finished artwork per session
- market classes to build a student base
- coordinate class schedules with Michaels store management
- maintain a positive and encouraging classroom environment
- become certified through Grumbacher to meet teaching standards
- communicate effectively with students of varying skill levels
