Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Some experience with basic laboratory bench work or equivalent
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Surface Water "C" Certificate or ability to obtain within one year
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions
- Willingness to work in confined spaces and variable environmental conditions
- Ability to wear a respirator when necessary
- Non-exempt employment status
Job Qualifications

- Familiarity with state and federal water quality regulations
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with plant maintenance

Job Duties
- Conduct hourly plant rounds to monitor gauge readings and calibrations
- Perform routine water quality tests including turbidity, chlorine residuals, and alkalinity
- Adjust chemical feed rates and calibrate fluoride meters
- Conduct filter backwashing and maintenance activities
- Calculate chemical dosages and document plant performance accurately
- Report equipment failures and assist customers with inquiries
- Perform related duties to support plant operations effectively
