Job Requirements
- One year of experience assisting in receipt, storage, or issuance of materials in a centralized stockroom or warehouse
- Experience operating forklift trucks or similar power-operated materials handling equipment
- Valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain one within 10 days of hire
- Ability to work on campus at SDSU in San Diego
- Ability to comply with mandated reporter requirements
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Successful completion of a background check
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or varied hours based on needs
Job Qualifications
- Working knowledge of methods, practices, and equipment used in receiving, storing, packing, and shipping materials and supplies
- General knowledge of inventory methods and maintaining inventory records
- Ability to match names and numbers quickly and accurately
- Ability to keep simple records and make reports
- Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the duties
- Ability to make simple mathematical calculations
- Proficient operation of powered materials handling equipment
- Apply safe methods for moving heavy supplies and equipment
- Capability to perform manual labor
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds with or without assistance
Job Duties
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips
- Enter data into receiving systems and resolve discrepancies
- Pack, label, and ship outgoing materials via carriers such as UPS, USPS, and freight vendors
- Ensure timely delivery to campus departments
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, dollies, and trucks to move goods and supplies across campus
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse and ensure accurate sorting and distribution of U.S. and campus mail
- Support equipment tagging, surplus removal, and inventory tracking using barcoding systems
- Maintain accurate property records
