Job Duties
- assists higher graded warehouse workers in performing one or more of the following duties
- receiving - unloading trucks, unpacking and inspecting merchandise for damage and against receiving documents for nomenclature quantity, marking and tagging items
- storage - warehousing palletized or bulk stock in specified warehouse locations, shelves, bins
- issue - pulling items indicated on transfer documents, moving to staging area for loading and shipment
- receives loose clothing by means of a conveyor belt or material handling equipment, removes clothing from conveyor belt with copy of merchandise transfer, packs merchandise in prefabricated container, seals and prepares package for shipment
- weighs and processes mail to be shipped, receives shipping manifest, attaches to merchandise and places boxes in appropriate staging areas
- may occasionally operate a forklift in the performance of these duties
