Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • valid class A, B, or C driver’s license
  • ability to operate manual and electric pallet jacks
  • ability to operate forklift or willingness to complete required training and certification
  • must pass criminal background check
  • clean driving record with no DUI/DWI and minimal minor infractions
  • may need to pass drug screening as condition of hire
  • basic computer skills in common applications
  • strong communication skills
  • physical ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • ability to operate motor vehicles and equipment
  • ability to work inside and outside, alone, and irregular hours
  • willingness to travel for training or development
  • ability to use typical office and vehicle equipment

Job Qualifications

  • ability to operate manual and electric pallet jacks
  • ability to operate forklift or willingness to complete required training and certification
  • strong communication skills for vendor and community interaction
  • ability to use basic computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • willingness to obtain required food handler, civil rights, and other related certifications if not already certified

Job Duties

  • Perform pre-trip truck inspections and complete vehicle inspection reports
  • create and manage delivery invoices and ensure necessary signatures
  • fill out delivery logs tracking time, mileage, and product details
  • deliver food products to partner agencies and community programs following designated routes
  • assist in loading trucks before deliveries
  • pick up food products from retail partner establishments and maintain relationships with store staff
  • unload and properly store retail and donor products with accurate tagging
  • assist in routine warehouse maintenance including equipment inspections and cleaning
  • pull food orders following pick lists and properly wrap and store pallets
  • participate in inventory cycle counts and shuttle vehicles for maintenance
  • uphold customer service and safety standards during all warehouse and delivery operations
