Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Preferred 2 or 4-year college degree in business management, supply chain management or related field
- 1-3 years of related experience and/or training
- Must obtain a powered industrial equipment certification from Sysco within 3 months
- Proficient in English language skills including reading, writing, and speaking
- Ability to analyze and interpret business and technical documents
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software
- Capacity to lead meetings and discussions effectively
- Ability to apply company policies objectively and timely
- Excellent interpersonal skills with capacity to work cooperatively with diverse teams
- Ability to manage stress in deadline-driven environments
- Strong problem-solving and independent decision-making abilities
- Ability to comply with local, state, and federal regulations
- Must meet physical demands including occasional lifting up to 100 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2 or 4-year college degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or similar major preferred
- 1-3 years related experience and/or training
- Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within 3 months
- Ability to read, comprehend, write and speak English
- Able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Capable of writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Can perform basic arithmetic operations involving whole numbers, fractions and decimals
- Solve practical problems with limited standardization
- Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software and ability to learn Sysco technology software
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to successfully engage and lead individual and group discussions
- Apply company policies in a consistent, timely and objective manner
- Able to work collaboratively across departments and corporate offices
- Able to adhere to established procedures and comply with local, state and federal regulations
- Capable of handling deadline and customer service pressures
- Demonstrate skill in independent decision making supporting company policies
Job Duties
- Manages the daily work and safety of inbound and outbound warehouse managers, supervisors and other associates
- Ensures the efficient management of labor hours and consumable supplies within budget and work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed
- Supervises the proper selection, purchase, and utilization of company assets in support of warehouse operations
- Coordinates with other departments to ensure upgrades and repairs are completed efficiently and effectively
- Develops business relationships and maintains contracts with third-party vendors including lumping services
- Reviews shipping and loading audit documentation daily ensuring compliance with HAACP, food safety, and catch-weight documentation
- Suggests efficiency ideas and cost reduction measures and assists with implementation of operational changes
- Identifies problems and proposes solutions to management while promoting cooperation with other departments
- Assures the use and updating of receiving, selection and loading software systems
- Preserves associate relations through regular communication and meetings
- Maintains ongoing interaction with staff and answers questions regarding policies
- Monitors associate morale and engagement initiatives
- Interprets, trains and enforces company policies and procedures
- Organizes safety training, observes practices, and conducts accident investigations with safety department
- Makes disciplinary recommendations and executes staff management including selection, development, performance reviews and terminations
- Performs duties of supervised associates as needed
- Complies with local, state and federal regulatory agencies including OSHA, AIB, FDA, USDA regulations
