Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- at least 6 months experience
- basic knowledge of repair techniques or job training alongside an experienced custodian
- ability to read, analyze, and write
- ability to effectively follow orders and respond to questions from management
- must be able to occasionally reach, lift, and move up to 50 pounds
- must be able to crouch or crawl under a 48 inch high shelf
- ability to ascend and descend a 14 inch step
- must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons
- regularly works in an indoor office environment and required to sit and use repetitive hand motion
- frequently required to talk, hear, stand, and walk
- must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required
- must have the ability to read and discern visual images with 20/20 corrected vision
- must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones
- must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances

Job Duties
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them
- gather and empty trash
- service, clean, and supply restrooms
- clean and polish furniture and fixtures
- clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
- dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
- mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications
- strip, seal, finish, and polish floors
- drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work including vans, industrial trucks, or industrial vacuum cleaners
- follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
- move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or by using hand trucks
- notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
- remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels and spread snow melting chemicals
- requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation
- perform other duties as required by supervisor
