Job Requirements

  • Ability to work well with other staff and relate well to donors and agency representatives
  • Speak to donors and clients with poise and confidence
  • Familiarity with Southeast North Carolina
  • Possession of a valid North Carolina Class A driver’s license
  • Current DMV printout with no moving violations
  • Forklift certification
  • Proven driving and warehouse equipment operation skills
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Ability to maintain accurate records
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing 20 to 50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to walk, sit, squat, bend, twist, reach at various heights
  • Ability to push, pull, lift heavy objects in confined spaces
  • Ability to work inside freezers and coolers with temperatures between -10 and 38 degrees Fahrenheit

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Minimum of two years professional Class A truck driving experience
  • Experience in food or food-related environment preferred
  • Basic computer skills or willingness to learn
  • Ability to learn inventory control system
  • Ability to work well with staff and relate to donors and agency representatives
  • Valid North Carolina Class A driver’s license with no moving violations
  • Forklift certification
  • Proven ability to drive various trucks and operate warehouse equipment
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and write reports
  • Ability to lift 20 to 50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Job Duties

  • Assist warehouse supervisor in all warehouse operations including sanitation, safety, and maintenance
  • Drive agency vehicle to pick up food donations safely and timely
  • Deliver food for various programs and agency sites courteously and accurately
  • Work collaboratively with volunteers assisting in pick-ups and deliveries
  • Maintain professional rapport with donors and follow their food safety policies
  • Keep current licenses and certifications compliant with requirements
  • Complete accurate documentation for shipping, receiving, and warehousing
  • Maintain equipment and safety reports and driver logs
  • Report equipment safety issues immediately
  • Perform cleaning of vehicles and equipment
  • Inspect and secure product donations in compliance with safety policies
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks according to policies and OSHA regulations
  • Assist other operations staff as directed
  • Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse
  • Respond as a second responder during community emergencies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
