Job Requirements
- Ability to work full-time with daylight/evening shift rotation including weekends and holidays
- capability to walk, sit for long periods, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and push carts weighing up to 100 pounds
- willingness to maintain sanitary workplace conditions
- customer-oriented attitude
- ability to take direction from supervisors and directors
- compliance with all facility regulations and guidelines regarding food service
- exposure to or interest in senior care or food service preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- experience in food services or personal care is helpful but not required
- effective communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
Job Duties
- Assist with minor food preparation for meals and in-between nourishments
- work on the tray-line serving desserts, salads, beverages, or tray set-up
- set up dining room tables with complete individual place settings attractively
- deliver food carts to dining rooms and nursing stations
- assist nursing staff with meal distribution
- maintain sanitary conditions in food storage areas, equipment, environment, and work surfaces
- possess effective communication and interpersonal skills especially with elderly and ill populations and healthcare providers
- maintain a professional, customer-oriented demeanor and cooperate with coworkers and peers
