Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality or full-service senior living
  • CPR and First Aid certification maintenance
  • ServeSafe certification maintenance
  • Local Health Department Food Handler Card maintenance
  • Ability to perform duties satisfactorily
  • Compliance with Sunrise and state/provincial regulations
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to attend required training and meetings
  • Relevant health and safety compliance including PPE usage and fire safety
  • Ability to pass drug and health screenings as required

Job Qualifications

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent organizational and time management skills
  • Good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to understand and follow safety policies and procedures

Job Duties

  • Cultivate a warm and hospitable environment by making personal connections with residents and guests and treating all with professionalism and respect
  • Take and deliver food orders in a timely manner
  • Bus and reset tables per company standards
  • Clean and maintain the dining room and bistro to the highest standards per company guidelines
  • Complete required side work as assigned
  • Attend pre-meal meeting to gain knowledge of the meal
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items and provide general descriptions
  • Assist residents with menu selections and respond professionally to questions about menu items
  • Use Sunrise systems for order taking and meal delivery to ensure accuracy
  • Practice safe food handling procedures in accordance with laws and company policies
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and use necessary safety equipment
  • Perform other dining services duties as assigned including washing and sanitizing dishes and utensils
  • Sweep and sanitize work areas and empty trash
  • Prepare and serve light meals according to standardized recipes and menus
  • Assist with food preparation and plating when necessary
  • Participate actively as a member of a team and commit to working toward team goals
  • Demonstrate team member credo and principles of service in daily interactions
  • Attend meetings and maintain compliance with training requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
