Job Requirements

Previous serving or food service experience preferred
ability to work part-time schedules between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm
ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
reliable and punctual
ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
basic food handling knowledge
ability to handle cash transactions
ability to work in a senior living dining environment
must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
willingness to comply with company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
previous experience in food service or serving preferred but not required
strong communication and interpersonal skills
ability to work well in a team environment
basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
ability to handle cash and follow cash handling procedures
flexibility to work various shifts as needed
ability to interact positively with senior living guests
understanding of dietary restrictions and specialized diets is a plus

Job Duties

Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
takes food and beverages in an efficient manner, following established steps of service
delivers food promptly and professionally
maintains safe food handling and sanitation standards
follows up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
advises guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested
accommodates reasonable requests and notes preferences
communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure that orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated
exhibits exceptional communication skills
collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
promotes a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
maintains a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
promptly addresses complaints or issues and relays relevant information to supervisor
ensures dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period
operates equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
works with other departments during special events and functions
performs other duties as assigned
