Job Requirements

  • Previous serving experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff
  • Capability to follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • Flexibility to work part time including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to handle monetary transactions accurately
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to understand menu items and accommodate dietary needs
  • Physical stamina to stand and move during shifts
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • Take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • Deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • Follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • Advise guests on menu items, food and drink combinations, and accommodate dietary preferences and allergies
  • Communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy and special requests
  • Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • Promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • Address complaints promptly and report to supervisor
  • Ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after service periods
  • Operate various equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, and beverage machines
  • Work with other departments during special events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
