Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous serving or food service experience preferred
- ability to work part-time afternoon and evening shifts including Sundays and Mondays
- strong communication skills
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to follow food safety protocols
- reliable and punctual
- ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information
Job Qualifications
- Previous serving or food service experience in a senior living setting preferred
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to understand menu items and dietary restrictions
- customer service orientation
- basic math skills for handling transactions
Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- take food and beverage orders efficiently following established service steps
- deliver food promptly while maintaining safe handling and sanitation standards
- follow up to assist with any additional guest needs or requests
- demonstrate knowledge of menu items, ingredients, specialized diets, and allergens
- communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and accommodation of special requests
- maintain a clean, safe, and neat dining environment while adhering to sanitation standards
- collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
- address guest complaints or issues promptly and relay information to supervisors
- ensure the dining room is set up properly prior to and after service periods
- operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
- collaborate with other department staff during special events and functions
- perform other duties as assigned
