Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous serving or food service experience preferred
  • ability to work part-time afternoon and evening shifts including Sundays and Mondays
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to follow food safety protocols
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information

Job Qualifications

  • Previous serving or food service experience in a senior living setting preferred
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to understand menu items and dietary restrictions
  • customer service orientation
  • basic math skills for handling transactions

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established service steps
  • deliver food promptly while maintaining safe handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up to assist with any additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate knowledge of menu items, ingredients, specialized diets, and allergens
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and accommodation of special requests
  • maintain a clean, safe, and neat dining environment while adhering to sanitation standards
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • address guest complaints or issues promptly and relay information to supervisors
  • ensure the dining room is set up properly prior to and after service periods
  • operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborate with other department staff during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
