- knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation standards
- ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- flexibility to work varying schedules
- understanding of specialized diets and allergens is a plus
- strong customer service orientation
Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- takes food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
- delivers food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- follows up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
- demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advises guests on appropriate combinations
- communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate order delivery and accommodation of special requests
- collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
- promotes a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
- maintains high sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
- promptly addresses complaints or issues and relays relevant information to supervisor
- ensures dining room is properly set up before and after service periods meeting sanitation standards
- operates various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
- collaborates with other department staff during special events and functions
- performs other duties as assigned
