Job Requirements

  • Previous food service experience required
  • ability to work part-time hours with flexibility including weekends and evenings
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and follow sanitation standards
  • capability to handle cash and follow cash-handling procedures
  • physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • willingness to learn and accommodate guest preferences and dietary requirements

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on food and drink combinations and accommodate requests and preferences
  • communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and special request accommodation
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and cooperate well with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to the supervisor
  • ensure the dining room is set up properly before and after service and maintain sanitation standards
  • operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborate with other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
