Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous serving experience preferred
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • familiarity with menu items and ability to explain ingredients to guests
  • customer service orientation
  • ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • basic math skills for handling transactions

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverages orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on suitable combinations
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences including knowledge of specialized diets and allergens
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy and accommodate special requests
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and the ability to foster effective teamwork
  • remain flexible and patient when interacting with guests and colleagues
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintain confidentiality of personal or medical information shared
  • promptly address guest complaints or issues and relay information to supervisors
  • ensure dining room is properly set up before and after service, keeping area clean and meeting sanitation standards
  • operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborate with other departments to perform duties during special events
  • perform other duties as assigned
