Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a waiter/waitress or similar role preferred
  • ability to handle food safely and maintain sanitation standards
  • strong customer service skills
  • ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • ability to work flexible part-time hours including evenings
  • must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to operate basic kitchen and dining room equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service preferred
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

  • understanding of specialized diets and allergens is a plus

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on food and drink combinations
  • communicate directly with kitchen staff to ensure correct order delivery and accommodate special requests
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat dining environment
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisors
  • ensure dining room is properly set up before and after service
  • operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • collaborate with staff from other departments during special events
  • perform other duties as assigned
