Job Requirements

  • One year of previous waiter or waitress experience
  • ability to work flexible part-time hours including nights, holidays, weekends, and Sunday mornings
  • clear communication skills
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • basic cash-handling skills
  • readiness to follow food safety and sanitation procedures
  • willingness to work collaboratively with kitchen and service staff

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients advising guests on combinations and accommodating reasonable requests
  • communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy and special requests
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and patience while interacting with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared
  • promptly address complaints or relay information to supervisors
  • ensure dining room is properly set up before and after service
  • operate various equipment including fire extinguishers and beverage machines
  • collaborate with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
