Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous serving experience preferred
  • ability to work a part-time schedule with open availability preferred
  • ability to communicate clearly and work well with others
  • physical ability to perform duties including standing and walking for long periods
  • willingness to adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines
  • ability to maintain confidentiality of personal and medical information

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established service steps
  • deliver food promptly while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests appropriately
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences including specialized diets and allergens
  • communicate effectively with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy and handle special requests
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain positive interactions with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe and orderly environment
  • maintain confidentiality regarding personal and medical information
  • promptly address guest complaints or issues and relay information to supervisors
  • prepare dining room before and after service, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to sanitation standards
  • operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborate with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
