Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior food service experience preferred
  • ability to work part-time hours including days, weekends, and holidays
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to handle cash and operate basic restaurant equipment
  • willingness to work in a fast-paced team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Prior food service experience preferred
  • ability to communicate warmly and effectively with guests and team members
  • knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • basic math skills for handling cash transactions
  • knowledge of menu items and dietary restrictions is a plus
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in dining areas
  • ability to handle guest complaints professionally

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • takes food and beverages in an efficient manner, following established steps of service
  • delivers food promptly and professionally
  • maintains safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follows up periodically to assist with additional needs or requests
  • demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advises guests on food and drink combinations
  • accommodates reasonable requests and notes preferences
  • demonstrates knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed
  • communicates with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy and special requests
  • exhibits exceptional communication skills and ability to get along with others
  • remains flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
  • collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
  • promotes a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintains confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly addresses complaints or issues and notifies supervisor if necessary
  • ensures dining room is properly set up before and after service period
  • keeps area clean and meets sanitation standards
  • operates equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborates with staff from other departments during special events
  • performs other duties as assigned
