Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- take food and beverages orders in an efficient manner, following established steps of service
- deliver food promptly and professionally, maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards
- follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
- demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
- advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested
- accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
- communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and special requests
- exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to get along well with others
- remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
- collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
- promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
- maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
- promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisor
- ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period
- operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
- work with staff of other departments during special events and functions
- perform other duties as assigned
