Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate knowledge of menu items and ingredients, advise guests on food and drink combinations, accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies
  • communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are correct and special requests are handled
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding guest information
  • promptly address complaints and relay information to supervisor
  • ensure dining room is properly set up before and after service
  • operate equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, beverage machines, and coffee makers
  • collaborate with other departments during special events
  • perform other duties as assigned
