Job Requirements

  • Prior server experience
  • basic high school education or equivalent
  • ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • strong communication and customer service skills
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods
  • prior senior living experience preferred
  • food handlers certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • assist guests periodically with additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate thorough understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
  • demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy and special requests
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to work well with others
  • remain flexible and patient in guest and staff interactions
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • handle complaints or issues promptly and relay information to supervisors
  • set up and clean dining room before and after service
  • operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, coffee machines
  • collaborate with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
