Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • recent experience in hospitality or customer service
  • ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • reliable transportation
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to multitask in a busy restaurant setting

Job Qualifications

  • Have recent experience in the hospitality/customer service industry
  • ability to accurately exchange currency with guests as well as accurately handle tip-outs
  • ability to bus/pre-bus with or without support staff
  • ability to provide reliable transportation to and from work
  • ability to work fast and multi-task in a high-volume environment
  • ability to provide excellent customer service for every and all tables in the restaurant
  • must be friendly and consistently display an attitude that fosters a teamwork environment

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • efficiently take food and beverages, following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally
  • maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate a complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
  • demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and demonstrate the ability to get along well with others
  • remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information that is shared
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information or complaints directly to the supervisor
  • ensure that the dining room is properly set up before and after the service period
  • keep area clean and neat while meeting established sanitation standards
  • operate a variety of equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work with staff of other departments to perform job duties during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
