Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience as a server required
  • ability to work full-time or part-time schedules including weekends and holidays
  • ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • strong communication and customer service skills
  • adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • ability to handle cash and use dining equipment safely

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a server
  • experience in senior living or healthcare setting preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to understand menu items and ingredients
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to handle cash transactions
  • ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • basic knowledge of specialized diets and allergens

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note guest preferences including specialized diets and allergens
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate and timely order delivery
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to work well with others while remaining flexible and patient
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to supervisors
  • ensure the dining room is properly set up before and after service periods
  • operate dining equipment including fire extinguishers and beverage machines
  • collaborate with other departments for special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
