Job Requirements
- Food or customer service experience required
- ability to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods
- availability to work full-time or part-time
- reliable transportation to the SHU location
- ability to communicate effectively in English
- legal authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous food or customer service experience required
- knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work effectively in a team environment
- ability to remain flexible and patient under pressure
- knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and dietary restrictions
- cash handling skills
Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- take food and beverages orders in an efficient manner following established steps of service
- deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on appropriate combinations and accommodate reasonable requests
- communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests accommodated
- collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
- promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
- promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisor
- ensure dining room is properly set up prior to and after service period
- operate various dining equipment
- perform duties during special events and functions
- perform other duties as assigned
