Job Requirements

  • Valid ABC card preferred
  • availability for full-time or part-time scheduling
  • reliable transportation to Blakeford at Green Hills location
  • ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to serving
  • ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • willingness to participate in ongoing training and development
  • commitment to maintaining confidentiality of guest information

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in a waiter or waitress role advantageous
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to understand and explain menu items and dietary restrictions
  • strong customer service orientation
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on food and drink combinations and accommodate special dietary needs
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and teamwork
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and report to supervisor
  • ensure dining room setup before and after service and maintain sanitation standards
  • operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborate with other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
