Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous customer service experience preferred but not mandatory
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff
  • availability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • willingness to follow safety and hygiene protocols
  • ability to handle cash responsibly
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in dining areas

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • takes food and beverages orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients advising guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and special requests accommodation
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and remain flexible and patient with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean safe and neat environment for guests
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues relaying information to supervisor
  • ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after service
  • operate equipment including fire extinguishers telephones iced tea and soda machines soup wells and coffee machines
  • work with staff of other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
