Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in catering or food service
  • ability to work on-call schedules
  • willingness to comply with company health and safety policies including use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • capable of performing physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
  • legal authorization to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Previous off-premise catering experience preferred
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • strong knowledge of food and beverage service etiquette
  • ability to work flexible on-call schedules
  • capable of maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation
  • familiarity with common dietary restrictions and allergens
  • ability to operate food service equipment
  • proficiency in cash handling procedures
  • ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle guest complaints professionally

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate comprehensive understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
  • communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate order delivery and special request fulfillment
  • exhibit excellent communication skills and maintain positive interactions with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical guest information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to supervisors
  • ensure proper setup and cleanup of dining room before and after service
  • operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborate with other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
