Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in catering or food service
- ability to work on-call schedules
- willingness to comply with company health and safety policies including use of protective gloves and slip-resistant shoes
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- capable of performing physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- legal authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Previous off-premise catering experience preferred
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- strong knowledge of food and beverage service etiquette
- ability to work flexible on-call schedules
- capable of maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation
- familiarity with common dietary restrictions and allergens
- ability to operate food service equipment
- proficiency in cash handling procedures
- ability to work effectively as part of a team
- strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle guest complaints professionally
Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
- deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
- demonstrate comprehensive understanding of menu items and ingredients
- advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
- accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
- communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate order delivery and special request fulfillment
- exhibit excellent communication skills and maintain positive interactions with guests and staff
- collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
- promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
- maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical guest information
- promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to supervisors
- ensure proper setup and cleanup of dining room before and after service
- operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
- collaborate with other departments during special events and functions
- perform other duties as assigned
