Job Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • availability to work on-call schedule
  • previous catering or hospitality experience preferred
  • capability to handle physical aspects of the job including lifting and standing for extended periods
  • adherence to company policies including safety and sanitation
  • legal authorization to work in the United States

  • Previous off-premise catering experience preferred
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work flexible on-call schedule
  • knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
  • ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • understanding of menu items and dietary restrictions
  • ability to operate related service equipment
  • teamwork and customer service orientation
  • ability to work in a fast-paced event environment

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders in an efficient manner following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and accommodations
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and collaborate well with others
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and report to supervisor
  • ensure dining room is set up properly before and after service
  • operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work with staff of other departments during special events
  • perform other duties as assigned
