Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • prior food and beverage service experience preferred
  • must be able to stand for extended periods
  • ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • reliable transportation if required
  • able to work scheduled shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • must comply with food safety regulations
  • willing to undergo background checks if applicable

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with any additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on food and drink combinations and accommodate reasonable requests
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are correct and special requests are accommodated
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and flexibility when interacting with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment
  • maintain confidentiality regarding personal or medical guest information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and report to supervisor
  • ensure dining room is properly set up before and after service while meeting sanitation standards
  • operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborate with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
