Job Requirements

  • No previous experience required
  • must be able to work flexible part-time schedules including some weekends
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • capable of carrying trays or orders
  • must comply with sanitation and safety standards
  • ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • legal eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • customer service experience is a plus but not required
  • willingness to learn and be trained
  • ability to accommodate flexible work schedules
  • basic math skills for cash handling
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles is beneficial
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • positive attitude and friendly demeanor

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • takes food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • delivers food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follows up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advises guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • accommodates reasonable requests and notes preferences including knowledge of specialized diets and allergens
  • communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are correct and special requests accommodated
  • exhibits exceptional communication skills and ability to get along with others
  • collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
  • promotes a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintains confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared
  • addresses complaints or issues promptly and relays relevant information to supervisor
  • ensures dining room is properly set up before and after service, keeping area clean and sanitary
  • operates various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • works with other department staff during special events and functions
  • performs other duties as assigned
