Job Requirements

  • ability to work flexible schedules including am and pm shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards is an asset
  • ability to understand menu items and ingredients
  • basic math skills for cash handling
  • teamwork and collaboration skills
  • customer service orientation

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on food and drink combinations
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and special request accommodations
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain flexibility and patience when interacting with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat dining environment
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal and medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisors
  • ensure dining room setup before and after service periods meeting sanitation standards
  • operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work with other department staff during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
