Job Requirements

  • Previous serving experience preferred
  • ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff
  • basic math skills
  • physical capability to stand and walk for long periods
  • willingness to work Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm
  • ability to follow food safety and sanitation protocols
  • timely and accurate order taking
  • ability to handle cash transactions
  • operate food and beverage service equipment
  • maintain confidentiality of guest information

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • takes food and beverages in an efficient manner, following established steps of service
  • delivers food promptly and professionally
  • maintains safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follows up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advises guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks
  • accommodates reasonable requests and notes preferences
  • communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests accommodated
  • exhibits exceptional communication skills and ability to get along well with others
  • remains flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
  • collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
  • promotes a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • maintains high sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • addresses complaints promptly and relays relevant information to supervisor
  • ensures the dining room is properly set up prior to and after service periods
  • operates various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborates with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • performs other duties as assigned
