Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous customer service experience preferred
  • prior food service experience preferred
  • able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • availability to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • reliable transportation or access to public transit
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • age 18 or older as required by law

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with any additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy and accommodate special requests
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and maintain flexibility and patience when interacting with guests and staff
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisors
  • ensure dining room setup before and after service meets sanitation standards
  • operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborate with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
