Job Requirements

  • Prior serving or dish experience preferred
  • ability to work part-time shifts varying between 11:00 am - 7:00 pm or 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm
  • availability to work varying days
  • ability to perform essential job functions satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • basic math skills for cash handling
  • ability to stand and be active for long periods
  • willing to learn and be trained
  • legal eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior serving and dish experience preferred but not required
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work well in a team environment
  • knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
  • ability to remain flexible and patient with guests and staff
  • basic cash handling skills
  • ability to operate restaurant equipment
  • understanding of menu items and ingredients

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate understanding of menu items and ingredients and advise guests on appropriate combinations
  • accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure correct order delivery and accommodate special requests
  • exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to get along well with others
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to supervisor
  • ensure dining room is properly set up before and after service periods
  • operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • work with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • perform other duties as assigned
