Job Qualifications

  • ability to handle guest requests professionally
  • knowledge of food handling and sanitation preferred but not required
  • ability to learn quickly
  • willingness to work flexible, on call shifts

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • takes food and beverages in an efficient manner, following established steps of service
  • delivers food promptly and professionally
  • maintains safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follows up periodically to assist with additional needs or requests
  • demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advises guests on food and drink combinations
  • accommodates reasonable requests and notes preferences
  • communicates with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate orders
  • exhibits exceptional communication and teamwork skills
  • collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
  • promotes a clean, safe and neat environment
  • addresses complaints or issues promptly and relays information to supervisor
  • sets up and cleans the dining room before and after service
  • operates equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • works with other departments during special events
  • performs other duties as assigned
