Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in customer service or hospitality
- physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to work a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week including weekends and holidays
- proficiency in English for communication
- willingness to comply with food handling and safety regulations
- ability to operate dining service equipment
- ability to handle cash and follow cash-handling procedures
- availability to work at United Airlines Chicago Polaris location

Job Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience
- previous fine dining experience preferred
- experience in airport lounge service preferred
- ability to communicate effectively in a professional setting
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- strong interpersonal skills
- ability to handle cash and payment transactions accurately
- flexibility to work scheduled shifts including weekends and holidays
- sensitivity to guest needs and confidentiality
- basic knowledge of specialized diets and allergens
Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- take food and beverages in an efficient manner following established steps of service
- deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
- follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
- demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
- advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks
- accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
- demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed
- communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests accommodated
- exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to get along well with others
- remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
- collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
- promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
- maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
- promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisor
- ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after service periods
- operate a variety of equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
- work with staff of other departments during special events and functions
- perform other duties as assigned
