Job Requirements

At least two years of prior serving experience
ability to work 20 to 25 hours per week including lunch, dinner and weekend shifts
willingness to adhere to company policies and safety procedures
ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff
basic physical ability to perform duties including standing for extended periods
willingness to maintain confidentiality of guest information
ability to operate required food service equipment

Job Qualifications

Two years of prior serving experience
excellent communication skills
ability to work flexible hours including weekends
knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation standards
ability to work well in a team environment
basic math skills for cash handling
understanding of menu items and dietary restrictions
ability to provide exceptional customer service

Job Duties

Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
take food and beverage orders in an efficient manner, following established steps of service
deliver food promptly and professionally
maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards
follow up periodically to assist with additional needs or requests
demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks
accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences
demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens
communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests accommodated
exhibit exceptional communication skills and demonstrate ability to get along well with others
remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff
collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
promptly address complaints or issues and relay relevant information to supervisor
ensure the dining room is properly set up prior to and after service period
operate a variety of equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
work with staff of other departments during special events and functions
perform other duties as assigned
