Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • capable of learning and adapting to new procedures
  • basic math skills for cash handling
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation preferred but not required
  • willingness to work varied hours including weekends

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • take food and beverage orders efficiently following established steps of service
  • deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follow up periodically to assist with additional guest needs or requests
  • demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advise guests on appropriate food and drink combinations and accommodate reasonable requests
  • communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy and special accommodations
  • collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures
  • promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • promptly address complaints or issues and relay information to the supervisor
  • ensure the dining area is properly set up before and after service
  • operate dining equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • collaborate with other departments during special events
  • perform other duties as assigned
