Job Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a similar role required
  • availability to work part-time weekends including Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 am to 7:30 pm
  • ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • capable of handling confidential information responsibly

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum of one year experience in a similar role
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • basic math skills and cash-handling experience
  • ability to accommodate dietary restrictions and special requests
  • customer service-oriented mindset
  • ability to operate restaurant equipment safely

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • takes food and beverages in an efficient manner, following established steps of service
  • delivers food promptly and professionally
  • maintains safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • follows up periodically to assist with additional needs or requests
  • demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients
  • advises guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested
  • accommodates reasonable requests and notes preferences
  • communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated
  • exhibits exceptional communication skills and gets along well with others
  • collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
  • promotes a clean, safe and neat environment for guests
  • maintains confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
  • promptly addresses complaints or issues and relays relevant information to supervisor
  • ensures the dining room is properly set up before and after service period and keeps area clean
  • operates a variety of equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines
  • works with staff from other departments to perform duties during special events and functions
  • performs other duties as assigned
