Job Requirements
- Some senior living experience is preferred but not necessary
- Ability to work full-time or part-time schedules with variable days and hours
- Must be able to perform essential job functions satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information
- Must comply with company policies including drug-free workplace rules
- Must be able to operate necessary dining equipment
- Must be able to follow proper sanitation and food safety practices
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in hospitality or customer service roles preferred
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service and sanitation standards
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to understand and explain menu items including allergy information
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Ability to follow cash-handling procedures
- Ability to interact professionally and courteously with guests and team members
- Previous senior living experience is a plus but not required
Job Duties
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
- Takes food and beverage orders following established steps of service
- Delivers food promptly and professionally while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards
- Follows up periodically to assist with any additional guest needs or requests
- Demonstrates understanding of menu items and ingredients including specialized diets and allergens
- Communicates with back-of-the-house staff to ensure accurate order delivery and accommodation of special requests
- Collects tickets and follows proper cash-handling procedures
- Maintains cleanliness, safety, and neatness of the dining environment
- Addresses guest complaints promptly and relays information to supervisors
- Prepares the dining room before and after service periods
- Operates various equipment including coffee machines, soda machines, and fire extinguishers
- Collaborates with staff from other departments during special events and functions
- Performs other duties as assigned
